Maison B's "rapper" REIJI is ranked number one in the "April Favorite"!
The "Monthly Favorite Ranking" started in October 2023!
Monthly Favorite Ranking is a ranking that is determined by user votes.User voting-based favourite media"is😊
This time,Maison B's REIJI won the prestigious number one spot in the monthly favorite ranking "April Favorites", which was voted between March 1st and 7th.👏
To celebrate REIJI's birthday on April 14th, MBius (Maison B's fun name) all worked together to join in the polls.
And now we have an interview with REIJI!
"Rap" is essential when talking about REIJI.♪
REIJI, who has become the listener and do the rap, has a deeper view of music.
Not only does he love rap, but the more I listen to the stories I hear, the more I reveal my passionate feelings! !
He talked about the details in an interview, so please enjoy it.😊
Maison B and MBius have come together to make it the number one favorite.
Senil JAPAN Staff: First, congratulations on the number one spot in the "April Favorite"!
Is it ranked number one this time?
REIJI: When I saw the announcement of the top 10, there were a lot of amazing people, so I was really surprised that I didn't think I would be number one in the vote!
Senil JAPAN Staff: Did you look at it from the top 10?
REIJI: I was surprised when I saw a fan saying, "This is what we're doing!" on social media DMs and saying things like, "I'm doing this!"
Senil JAPAN Staff: (We introduce the messages from users received from monthly favourite rankings)
Could you please send us a message to those who participated in the poll this time?
REIJI: First of all, thank you to everyone who voted!
I'm pretty wellFor MBiusI'm thinking about it and acting on this, but more than that, the actions, comments, and comments of MBius people often provide great support for me.
I'll be 26 years old and I'd be really happy if everyone came along!
Senil JAPAN Staff: It was impressive to see the MBius members really enthusiastically calling out to vote since the voting began, and many people responded to the featured articles.
REIJI: I'm truly proud that these people are supporting me,
I'm happy and grateful that Maison B and MBius are often said to me as one organization!
Boys group is a bridge to rap
Senil JAPAN Staff: I'm sure we hear voices from MBius people every day, but what do you think REIJI is about your own appeal?
REIJI: Maison B is working under the production of rapper KEN THE 390.
I've always loved rap and have been asking about it, but I'm the one who does it and properly expresses the good points of rap.
I think the appeal of this is that you can create packaging that even people who have never heard of raps can listen to!
Senil JAPAN Staff: I think you've also written lyrics for rap, but where do you get your inspiration from?
REIJI: I started rapping in old school hip hop, so I was often inspired by early rappers.
Recently, I've been making things with a focus on young rappers and the latest trends, and I've been influenced by a variety of places!
I also write the lyrics through sampling, borrowing some atmosphere.
I'm conscious of making it deeper so that anyone who knows about rap can see it, saying, "These lyrics are probably this line from that rapper."
Senil JAPAN Staff: The lyrics were explained in roomR's "Pay Back," which was released in March.
I thought that it was because REIJI made it himself that everyone at MBius would want to understand it, but what are the reactions from the fans?
REIJI: I heard the lyrics commentary and it was quite common that the scene was even more widespread,
I was just talking to RICK, and I'm grateful that they understand this and listen to me saying it's fun!
Senil JAPAN Staff: It's quite difficult to get into the world of rap.
REIJI:I agree. Overseas, it ranks on the charts, right?
In Japan, it's music that you don't get too close to hearing unless you go to hear it, so we always doI hope it can become a bridgeThat's what I'm talking about.
Rap is an image of underground, so I think it would be interesting if a boy group could be connected!
Supporting ads from fans who supported the time of their struggle
Senil JAPAN Staff: I'm sure the fans had a support advertised for REIJI during the audition program they previously appeared on!
Favorite ads (BirthdayWhat did you think when you first learned that there is a way to support you, such as advertising/support ads?
REIJI: At first I thought that the way the fans cheer on is from "enjoying yourself" to "telling others" is unique to Korea, which has a culture of communicating!
The fact that fans actively do various things for their idols makes it even more sense that the artists are supporting us, and it's a really exciting culture.
Senil JAPAN Staff: How did you feel when you found out that your support ads were being published?
REIJI:More than anything, I was surprised! Please spend more on yourself financially! Honestly I thought so! (lol)
But I was just as happy.
Senil JAPAN Staff: Have you actually gone to see it?
REIJI: There's one time! I've only ever heard the words "I'm really grateful."
There was a time when things I had been doing were not taking shape, and it was a supportive ad when I was suffering so much.
It was also an opportunity to give me a direct impression that I was being supported by it in a form. I was so happy and I was glad that I did it.
Senil JAPAN Staff: As you said, there are many fans who want to put their support into reality. Is that form of support aid?
REIJI: It's messed up! (Support ads) can sometimes be something you can't put out on your own.
It makes me realize once again that the fans are communicating and acting for themselves, and I think it's a great way to support them.
A year of growing up after repeated trials and errors
Senil JAPAN Staff: Congratulations to you as you celebrated your first anniversary in February!
How was your year as Maison B?
REIJI: I often got on stage at live performances, and it was a year where I tried and got a lot of errors on both the technical and MC side.
The following are the things that we say, "This is what I'll do" and "This kid should do this" have solidified among the seven, so I think it's a year in which we were able to grow in stages!
Senil JAPAN Staff: Where do you feel like you've grown?
REIJI: It was my first time posting a rap song since I came to KEN THE 390, so I wonder what kind of approach I'll take.
There were many times when it was unclear whether the MC should continue as it is or whether it would be a good role to play.
However, during the final 1st anniversary live performance, I was able to communicate with the members, and although I wasn't 100% approaching the song, I'm starting to see more and more of the things that fit me well!
When it comes to standing on stage and expressing yourself as an artist, I felt that when I got a score, I gradually rose, so that's what I was a little different from a year ago.
Senil JAPAN Staff: Is there anything you cherish when you're performing a live performance?
REIJI: I held four regular live shows "-AZITO-" at the same venue, one year after the debut, once every two months, but I thought it was boring to do it all together, so I decided on a concept in the group and took on the stage, and for me, I set the stage apart from the heights of my heart!
The original looks like this, so it may not have changed much among the fans! (lol)
We made a standout challenge with aggressive expressions and stepped back!
Senil JAPAN Staff:What is your favorite stage?
REIJI: This was my first time performing "Get Loud" in Vol. 3, let's have a lively atmosphere with Maison B! This expression was created in the song.
Not only me, but seven people were able to liven up the audience in an offensive position, so it felt like "Get Loud" was a bit off!
Senil JAPAN Staff: Are there any memorable episodes with fans?
REIJI: We had a surprise during our 1st anniversary live performance.
When I was taking a photo of it all, I looked back and thought "3 2 1" came out on my monitor, but everyone at MBius gave me a cracker!
I never thought we would be surprised at the live show, so we just ended up crying (laughs).
I would like to express my gratitude at this time!
I want to deliver songs to the core music lovers as well
Senil JAPAN Staff:Is there anything you would like to try as a group in the future?
REIJIAs a group,Constantly raise the songI also talked about this with KEN THE 390 the other day.
In the second EP I'm currently making, there are more songs with textures like R&B and hip hop that boy groups don't have.
We will continue to pursue more ways to express songs and genres that only we can do in the future. There are places that you can only listen to because you love music.I hope to be able to deliver the songs to the core groups of people!
Senil JAPAN Staff:What do you think is Maison B's strengths?
REIJI:AuthenticThat's what it is!
For example, the songs in this EP have a genre called 2-step,
I think it's a strength in that it can explain in our own words that it becomes a cool, flexible song when ordinary people listen to it, "This is a culture, and because it's this kind of song, we post it this way."
Senil JAPAN Staff:Are there many MBius people who like music?
REIJI:I agree! However, many people have come to love Maison B and have started listening to rap.
I had been aiming to achieve a bridge with the rap, which I had been aiming for from the beginning.
I think it's only because I fell in love with rap that you can feel the part where you can say, "I'm able to do this kind of thing!"
I hope you will become more and more music lovers through Maison B!
Senil JAPAN Staff:As an individual, are there any challenges you would like to challenge?
REIJI: I want to bring out more rap, but it takes time to put it into shape.
I would like to constantly publish songs on social media and sound clouds a little more consistently, and express myself in the music!
Message from REIJI to MBius
Senil JAPAN Staff:Finally, could you please give me a message to all of MBius people?
REIJI:Thank you for taking this opportunity!
I think the reason I have grown in a year is because MBius people find strengths that they don't understand, such as their speaking style and their performance strengths, and support them.
I want to continue to work hard even at the age of 26, when I level up, so I would be extremely grateful if you continued supporting me in the future!
